Leabank Host Annual Christmas Party!

13th December 2017

A great day was had by all at Leabank's annual Christmas party

Staff members along with the residents and their friends and families all joined together in Leabank Nursing Home, Ballycastle to celebrate Christmas in style with the annual Christmas party. Activities Therapist Patricia McQuillan had the home looking truly festive with Christmas displays, beautifully lit up trees and tinsel galore!

The Shloer was flowing and live music by Niall McHenry had everyone up dancing and singing along, getting in the true Christmas spirit. A magnificent table filled with generously donated gifts from staff and resident’s friends and family were put on display at the Christmas fair for party goers to purchase. It was a great opportunity for everyone to start their Christmas shopping and support a fantastic local charity while doing so as all money went to the Air Ambulance. There was everything from board games, puzzles, bath sets, books, perfumes and even a wide selection of homemade goodies made by Irene McBride. Irene is wife of resident John McBride and is always first to help and support Leabank Nursing Home at functions and events like this which is much appreciated by all of the staff. Irene made flake meal biscuits, mince pies, toffee tarts, Christmas truffles and even homemade jams and spreads.

Air Ambulance is a charity very close to Leabank’s heart. In October this year, they tragically lost a treasured member of staff Sinead Stewart and Air Ambulance were one of the first to arrive to try help save her.

This was a very difficult time for the Home and also for Sinead’s beloved family and friends (pictured) who all came to support Leabank and the Air Ambulance at the Christmas party. The total raised from the Christmas fair was a magnificent £529.00.

It was amazing to have everyone come together to celebrate this wonderful time of the year and also to show support for an important charity, well done to everyone involved.
