Birthday Fever!

25th August 2017

Birthdays Galore at Park Manor

The Friday feeling was very apparent at Park Manor on Friday 4th August 2017. An 80’s themed party was set up to celebrate Rose Mason’s 50th Birthday. Picture neon colours, legwarmers, tutus, shell suits – you name it our staff wore it, it was like taking a step back in time!

The talented chefs rustled up a fabulous finger food buffet to keep our residents topped up with energy for all of the dancing. In addition to finger food; birthday cake and fancy cupcakes were beautifully presented at the tables alongside glasses of our resident’s favourite tipple and lavish birthday decorations.

The room was filled with residents and their loved ones and the DJ was playing all of the 80’s hits. The dance floor was full of happy faces; some of the children even had better dance moves than the adults! The music was then lowered and the staff dimmed down the lights… “Happy Birthday to youuuu” the crowd began to sing and out came the staff to present Rose (50) & Joyce (80) with presents, flowers, cake and cards.

Dr. Artie Kerr (whilst sipping a glass of bubbly & tapping his feet along to the music) said “The parties here are just great, I’m really enjoying myself today like I always do”. Betty Cummings who was sat beside him tucking into her party food nodded in agreement and added, “Now my memory isn’t the best, but one thing I do remember is that I always have a great time at all the parties – today is such a great day. The staff are brilliant, they would do anything for you”.

Marion Kane, family member of a resident also said “What can I say; this is what Park Manor is all about – celebrating everything about life”.

When Michael Strusdale was asked for a few words on his time at the party today he said “Just magic!” – Simple yet effective Michael and we agree, the parties at Macklin Care Homes really are just magic.
