Our Lady’s Dementia Corridor Transformation

Before & After Corridor Art

24th April 2024

Local artist Ian helps to create dementia village at Our Lady's!

We’re pleased to have worked with Ian Lowry, local artist from Bangor who put his great skills to use recently in Our Lady’s Care Home.

Part of a Dementia project, our corridor has been transformed from a plain space to a shopping village, with the first piece of art resembling a fruit shop.

This vision aims to help settle residents living with dementia by providing calm and comforting surroundings, a place where they feel safe. Art helps bring this to life and stimulate those with additional sensory needs in a care setting.

Thank you to Ian for working with us on this project and for the incredible, colourful transformation!
