Festive Styling Competition!

The magic of Christmas is alive across Macklin Group...
This festive season, we gave staff an exciting competition to transform one room in their care home into a magical Christmas display!
All homes got on board, working hard to create festive masterpieces in their home. From candy cane lanes to ski chalets and nostalgic decór, each result was unique and equally impressive.
Mary Macklin took on the role as Mrs Claus, touring the country to visit the homes and judge their creations. A bit of fun for the staff that turned out to be a very difficult decision, as she was positively surprised at what the staff had created…
The overall winner of the Christmas Decór Competition was Leabank in Ballycastle. Their two-toned floor to ceiling masterpiece made their day room unrecognisable! Activities Therapist Patricia was the brains behind the creation, and mentioned how much she loves to decorate and wrap presents at Christmas time, that her family ask her to wrap their own!
A hugely successful effort was seen from all homes, and it’s a project we hope to recreate each year as it has had lasting impact for residents and their families when visiting the homes.
