Karen Edwards from Tullycarnet Storytelling visits Milesian Manor

7th February 2018

For National Story Telling Week, Milesian Manor had the wonderful Karen Edwards from Tullycarnet Storytelling visit the Home to give residents an afternoon of intriguing and interesting stories.

The excitement for the event was very apparent throughout the Home that day; residents even arrived to the social room early to wait for Karen Edwards’s arrival. As she arrived everyone clapped and got ready for the fantastic stories.

Not only did Karen read to the residents – she serenaded them with a variety of musical instruments including the recorder and the flute!

At Macklin Care Homes we believe in not just telling stories, but getting the residents involved and excited about hearing them and incorporating music is a great way to stimulate different senses. It’s so important that we get our residents participating in activities that they love and can get involved in – storytelling is one of their favorites.
