Lenny the Dementia Friendly Barbour visits Park Manor on Men’s Day

29th November 2017

The new activities co-ordinator at Park Manor Nursing Home, Heather, organised her debut event today and what a success it was.

The theme was inspired by National Men’s Day on 19th November 2017, picture a James Bond style set up with poker chips and playing cards. The residents got pampered with Lenny the Dementia Friendly Barbour’s talented barbering skills and we must admit, they were all looking extra slick!

The atmosphere in Park Manor today was electric as the residents enjoyed music, crisps, snacks and even one to two beers to finish Men’s Day off in style.

Lenny  the Dementia Friendly Barbour  deservingly won an Alzheimer’s Society award last night for ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Community’.  He was very well received by the residents at Park Manor, showing great use of his dementia training skills. No doubt they will be asking for Men’s Day to become a regular event!

We love making our residents feel special and hosting themed events like today creates such a great buzz for them. This is so important because at the very heart of our homes is our residents, we are committed to ensuring they are able to live happy and contented lives full of wonderful experiences and memories.
