Leabank get ready to leave winter behind with stunning beach mural

With our Leabank Nursing Home situated in Ballycastle, it’s only natural that our residents just love the sea side – so the team thought it would be very fitting to have the most beautiful, bright and uplifting mural of the sea side painted on to the walls in one of the social rooms by a local painter.
The residents were overwhelmed at how pretty it was when they first saw it. The team at Leabank are planning on filling the room with sand, shells and other beach props to for the residents to experience a day at the beach on days they aren’t able to venture out – especially with our unpredictable weather!
To celebrate the opening of the seaside mural, a bake sale was held in the social room. Everything from homemade jams, preserves, caramel biscuits, German biscuits – you name it they had it! All made by the talented Irene McBride, wife of Leabank resident John McBride, Irene also had a helping hand from her daughter Laura.
Plans are in place for another mural on the first floor, we can wait to see what it will be!
